At Warrington Youth Rowing (WYR) we have a team of Trustees, Ambassadors and Coaches from a range of business backgrounds, all of whom have a vested interest in the work we do. Find out more about them below:


Elaine Nesbitt (Chair of Trustees)

Elaine has a wealth of experience as a Company Director and working for the Civil Service. Before becoming a Trustee Elaine was a regular volunteer for WYR. Elaine is now looking after the administration of WYR including all HR and Safeguarding matters.

Ben Dunne (Trustee)

A former rower, Ben is now a highly regarded professional in the education sector. Ben’s knowledge of the education system is invaluable to our team.

Jen Argent (Trustee)

A former junior rower at Warrington Rowing Club who was coached by Richard, Jen has since gone on to become a qualified solicitor and supports the team with her legal knowledge. She is our youngest trustee.

Alison Campbell (Trustee)

Dr Alison Campbell has a longstanding interest in rowing and has supported her daughters’ passion of the sport for many years at Northwich Rowing Club. Alison is Chief Scientific Officer of the Care Fertility Group and a Consultant Embryologist.


Richard Sinnott (Chief Executive Officer)

As a long standing and well-respected junior rowing coach, Richard brings a large bank of rowing experience and knowledge to Warrington Youth Rowing.  As Chief Executive Officer, he heads up the coaching team and manages the day to day operation of the Charity.

Richard Kong (Accountant)

With a strong background in accounting, this makes Richard the ideal person to look after our books.

Coaching Team

Gill Laidlaw and Jen Hinds

Gill and Jen have a rowing events company called Always Oarsome ( and are regulars at WRC. They are regular coaches and are on call for WYR, helping out with coaching and other rowing bits as required.

 Janet Stanhope

Janet has been a competitive rower at Warrington Rowing Club for many years and is a Club Coach for the J13 squad. Janet’s two daughters also row to a very high standard, with one currently following a rowing scholarship in the USA.

 Jane Clark

Jane started rowing as a ‘Rowing Mum’ and is now rowing herself competing for Warrington Rowing Club.  She is now turning her hand to coaching supporting WYR.

 Richard Sinnott

Richard Sinnott

Richard is a founding member of Warrington Rowing club which he helped set up in 1986 as well being an extremely successful junior rowing coach, helping many young people win local, national and international rowing titles.

Quin Dunne

Quinn has grown up with Warrington Youth Rowing as his father Ben is a Trustee.  Quinn competed at the highest level of rowing and has medalled at national level.

Val Edwards

A very experienced coach and rower.  Val is a great addition to our coaching team at Warrington.

Rachel Ince

Rachel is a fantastic PE teacher and currently rows at Warrington Rowing Club.  She is a great addition to our coaching team at Warrington Youth Rowing.


Lucy Glover

Lucy is a former junior rower at Warrington Rowing Club. She studied at Edinburgh University.  She is now an Olympian and full time member of the GB rowing team.  Despite her busy life, she is still a regular visitor to Warrington Youth Rowing where she inspires our young people.

Ric Egington

Ric Egington

Ric started his rowing career at Warrington Rowing Club and attended Priestley College before going to Reading University  After graduation he joined Leander Club and the GB Rowing team winning multiple World Championships and Olympic medals.  He was also a Captain of Leander Club in 20212.

Leon Hayes

Leon is an ideal ambassador for us as he took part in the Warrington Youth Rowing scheme whilst he was at school.  He is now one of Warrington Wolves rising stars and we look forward to seeing him become a regular first team player.
