At Warrington Youth Rowing (WYR) we have a team of Trustees, Ambassadors and Coaches from a range of business backgrounds, all of whom have a vested interest in the work we do. Find out more about them below:


Richard Sinnott (Coach and Trustee)

As a long standing and well-respected junior rowing coach, Richard brings a large bank of rowing experience and knowledge to the trustee team. He heads up our coaching team and is the Chairman of the Trustees.

Ben Dunne (Trustee)

A former rower, Ben is now a highly regarded professional in the education sector. Ben’s knowledge of the education system is invaluable to our team. Ben is not only a trustee of WYR, he is also a trustee of the River Reeves foundation.

Richard Kong (Accountant)

With a strong background in accounting, this makes Richard the ideal person to look after our books.

Jen Argent (Trustee)

A former junior rower at Warrington Rowing Club who was coached by Richard, Jen has since gone on to become a qualified solicitor and supports the team with her legal knowledge. She is our youngest trustee.

Elaine Nesbitt (Trustee)

Elaine has a wealth of experience as a Company Director and working for the Civil Service. Before becoming a Trustee Elaine was a regular volunteer for WYR. Elaine is now looking after the administration of WYR including all HR and Safeguarding matters.

Coaching Team

Gill Laidlaw and Jen Hinds

Gill and Jen have a rowing events company called Always Oarsome ( and are regulars at WRC. They are regular coaches and are on call for WYR, helping out with coaching and other rowing bits as required.

 Janet Stanhope

Janet has been a competitive rower at Warrington Rowing Club for many years and is a Club Coach for the J13 squad. Janet’s two daughters also row to a very high standard, with one currently following a rowing scholarship in the USA.

 Jane Clark

Jane started rowing as a ‘Rowing Mum’ and is now rowing herself competing for Warrington Rowing Club.  She is now turning her hand to coaching supporting WYR.

Richard is a founding member of Warrington Rowing club which he helped set up in 1986 as well being an extremely successful junior rowing coach, helping many young people win local, national and international rowing titles.

Julie Bennion

Julie is an ex-rower having rowed and competed in many local Regattas and Head races for Warrington Rowing Club as a young adult.

Michal Palamarczuk

Michal is a well known coach in the Chester area. He has run several successful junior rowing schemes over the years and we are delighted that he is able to join us.

Quin Dunne

Quinn has grown up with Warrington Youth Rowing as his father Ben is a Trustee.  Quinn competed at the highest level of rowing and has achieved medalled at national level.

Val Edwards

A very experienced coach and rower.  Val is a great addition to our coaching team at Warrington.


Lucy Glover

Lucy GloverLucy is a former junior rower at Warrington Rowing Club. She now studies at Edinburgh University but despite her busy life, she is still a regular visitor to Warrington Youth Rowing where she inspires our young people. Lucy is now a two time World Champion at Under 23 level.

Ric Egington

Ric Ric Egingtonstarted his rowing career at Warrington Rowing Club and attended Priestley College before going to Reading University. He quickly joined Leander Club and The GB Rowing Team winning multiple World Championships and Olympic Medals. He was also a Captain of Leander Club in 2012. Ric is now an Ambassador for Warrington Youth Rowing.

Mike Cooper

Mike is a Warrington lad and a well known sportsman. He is an international Rugby League player and currently the cornerstone of the Warrington Wolves pack. He has taken a great interest in WYR and often helps out with visits and prize giving.
