Northwich Youth Rowing (NYR) is part of Warrington Youth Rowing (WYR) and we have a team of Trustees, Ambassadors and Coaches from a range of business backgrounds, all of whom have a vested interest in the work we do. Find out more about them below:

Trustees

Elaine Nesbitt (Chair of Trustees)elaine@warringtonyouthrowing.org.uk

Elaine has a wealth of experience as a Company Director and working for the Civil Service. Before becoming a Trustee Elaine was a regular volunteer for WYR. Elaine is now looking after the administration of WYR including all HR and Safeguarding matters.

A former rower, Ben is now a highly regarded professional in the education sector. Ben’s knowledge of the education system is invaluable to our team.

A former junior rower at Warrington Rowing Club who was coached by Richard, Jen has since gone on to become a qualified solicitor and supports the team with her legal knowledge. She is our youngest trustee.

Alison Campbell (Trustee)alison@warringtonyouthrowing.org.uk

Dr Alison Campbell has a longstanding interest in rowing and has supported her daughters’ passion of the sport for many years at Northwich Rowing Club. Alison is Chief Scientific Officer of the Care Fertility Group and a Consultant Embryologist.

Management

As a long standing and well-respected junior rowing coach, Richard brings a large bank of rowing experience and knowledge to Warrington Youth Rowing.  As Chief Executive Officer, he heads up the coaching team and manages the day to day operation of the Charity.

Coaching Team

Kevin Jump

Kevin and Richard go way back in the rowing world and both started their rowing careers at Northwich Rowing Club. Kevin over the years has been Captain and Chair of Northwich RC. He coaches out of Northwich and helps out at our other sites.  

Carole Riddell

Carole is a long standing NRC member. As well as being an established coach at the club, she also has experience working in the youth sector.

Mary Ozsanlav-Harris

Mary is a rower herself at NRC and loves to coach. Rowing is also a family affair for Mary as her three children have all been very successful junior rowers, competing nationally and internationally.

Helen Wrigley

Ladies masters rower at Northwich Rowing Club. Helen has a background of working in safeguarding and public protection.

Jayne Black

Jane started as a junior rower at Northwich Rowing Club (NRC) and has been a regular on the scene at the club.  She is now an established coach for Northwich Youth Rowing.

Sue Dewhirst

A very experienced coach who has worked at The Grange School and Northwich Rowing Club for many years.

Ambassadors:

Matt Langridge

Matt Langridge

A lifelong NRC member, Matt has competed internationally from junior level to become 3x Olympic medallist, winning gold at Rio 2016. He has now retired from Team GB rowing and is working as a commercial pilot.

 Emily Ford

After learning how to row at the Grange school as a junior, Emily went on to compete for Newcastle University and Leander Club, winning multiple medals at the U23 World Rowing Championships. She is now an Olympian training full time with the GB rowing team.

Beth Dutton

Beginning her rowing career at NRC, Beth was a student rower at Oxford Brookes University where she studied sport and exercise science. As well as being a well decorated athlete, as a Junior European Champion in the Women’s 8 and HWR winner. 

 Phil Lyons

After starting rowing as a junior at Warrington Rowing Club, Phil went on to become the first ever coach for Warrington Youth Rowing.
